MAN-BIOPSY Multimodal Assessment of Neurobiological Markers for Psychiatric Disorders
Patients suffering from major depression and in remission as well as matched healthy controls will be enrolled and examined. Patients will be treated following a standardized treatment regime. Examinations cover: i) structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging, ii) electroencephalographic measurements and psychophysiological measurements iii) genotyping iv) biochemical parameters.
TMS to treat smoking addiction
Smokers will be recruited. Following repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, brain activity will be measured by means of functional magnetic resonance imaging.
The role of the opioid system for empathic responses to pain and their link to prosocial behavior
Healthy participants will receive pills affecting their pain sensitivity. While undergoing painful stimulation or watching other persons undergoing painful stimulation, their neural activity will be measured using functional magnetic resonance imaging.
Like me: The evolutionary and neurocognitive basis of the link between imitation, empathy and prosocial behaviour in dogs and humans
In an interdisciplinary project, we will conduct behavioral experiments on dogs and behavioral and neuroscientific ones in humans addressing the relationship of emotion and cognition.
Influence of prodynorphin genetic variation on striatal functions and brain activation
